I can be whoever I want.
The great thing about travelling on your own is that nobody knows you. This means that you can be whoever you choose to be because the other people don’t know how you usually are and therefore don’t have any expectations about how you will be.
People behave towards you the way you expect them to, so when we are in relationships for a period of time our experiences of that relationship shapes what we come to expect from the other person. For example, if your partner continually complains about “people” (referring to everyone else in the family except them haha) always leaving dirty dishes in the sink, you will come to expect them to complain – and so they will.
If you would like them to be more accepting or more relaxed, then it will require you seeing
them that way now, feeling the way you would if they were that way now, AND
being that way yourself.
Be the change you want to see in others.
I noticed while I was away that I was fun, funny, playful, relaxed, accepting, and knowing. I can be like that here in my home environment too. But I was consistently that way. Why wouldn’t I be? I didn’tcook a meal or organize anything.
I didn’t have to think.
I did of-course because our minds are made to think. But there was no planning required, it was all done for me.
I was free to just be.
So – I brought this home with me as much as possible. I don’t need to go on a cruise or meet new people to be who I want to be. I knew this already and I was doing it a lot. But now I know it more and I’m doing it more.
I am free.
There is nothing like a pure white sandy beach and clear aqua ocean to give you the sense of freedom. Freedom is our birthright.
We have the freedom to think whatever thoughts we choose.
This is always true.
Sometimes we think thoughts that perhaps we would prefer not to think, and it might feel like we don’t have control over them. I felt like that years ago. All I wanted was for the noise in my head to stop, because I didn’t like my thoughts.
Why on earth would we think about things we don’t like?
Because we have been trained to. Not deliberately. The people around us thought them too, so they passed them on to us. This is how we became conditioned to habitually think in a certain way. We were told to face reality.
Some of your habitual thinking is good for you.
Some of it is not.
So how do you control your thoughts? By noticing how you feel. If you feel good, you like your thoughts. If you don’t, you don’t.
Freedom is what everyone wants. The freedom to be yourself and the freedom to do and have what you want. When you have the resources to allow you to live that way, you will feel free.
The way you will receive the abundance to be free is to feel free now.
You don’t need to go on a cruise to the Bahamas to feel free, but it makes it very easy.
What could you do to allow yourself to feel free? What is your little “Bahamas” right where you are now? Do whatever it takes to feel free, and then act with a sense of freedom, and watch the people, opportunities, and circumstances that you will attract to bring you more and more freedom.
