What if the approval of others is whispering louder than the voice of your own soul? In From People Pleaser to Soul Pleaser: Six Steps to Being Who You Are Meant to Be, Tracy Secombe offers a heartfelt map out of burnout and into a life defined by your own truth.

What is the Book About?

Imagine choosing your path based on the quiet, wise whisper of your soul rather
than the clamor of outside expectations. Tracy Secombe invites us on a
gentle, liberating journey—six clear and tenderly explained steps—toward
discovering who you truly are and what makes your heart sing. It’s
about dialing down the noise of “shoulds” and “have-tos,” and tuning
into the rhythm of your own inner compass.

This book is a compassionate guide to saying “yes” to yourself without guilt. It
teaches you how to care for others while preserving your own well-being,
speak your truth with kindness, and pursue what genuinely lights you
up. Through real-life stories, thoughtful prompts, and soulful
encouragement, Secombe helps you rediscover your essence, so you can
live with joy, connection, and fulfillment as your compass. Read more...

The Personal Development Journey: Embracing Growth, Emotion, and Abundance

I absolutely loved this conversation with Hutch on The Profitable Farmer podcast.

Here is Hutch’s intro to our conversation …..

"Often, the journey of personal development can be misunderstood or even dismissed - many might view it as unnecessary or even indulgent. As we explore in this episode, it is not about ‘fixing’ yourself or chasing perfection… it’s about choosing who you want to become, letting go of old stories, and moving towards a more authentic, abundant version of yourself.

In this episode, I am delighted to once again speak with Tracy Secombe, our Director of Well-being at Farm Owners Academy, and someone who helps our community open up to, and embrace conversations about personal development and mindset.

In challenging times and an ever-changing world, for me, this shift is more important than ever.

Tracy and I explore how to reframe challenges, embrace emotions without
judgment, and navigate the highs and lows of personal growth.

Tracy shared a perspective that I’d describe as seeing life through a glass-half-full lens: “There’s plenty more where that came from.” It’s a simple yet powerful phrase, and when you really reflect on it,
it represents a mindset shift—from focusing on scarcity and limitations
to embracing abundance and possibility.

<span style="color:...Read More

Strengths, Passion, and Burnout

During the Farm Owners Academy June 2023 Deep Dive, I ran a session on ‘opening up to your potential’. I ran the same session in 2020 online, so I was unaware
of the reactions some people had to certain questions I asked.

I have had a number of people share that they felt disturbed by these two questions.

1. What are your strengths?

2. What is your passion?

I didn’t know I was burned out when my mother passed away in2016. I was too busy to notice. Losing the person who demonstrated the most
love for me left me acutely aware of my need for love to come from outside of
myself, resulting in a deep sense of loss.

The upside? It stopped me in my tracks. I couldn't keep going. I collapsed into grief – literally, often on the laundry floor, perhaps
because no one else in my house frequented that room at the time.

I stopped constantly doing and thinking and I finally started feeling, as painful as it was.

When the heartache gradually lightened, I was led to solutions. The first was a book by Rebecca Campbell, Light is the New Black. It
may have been in those pages that I was invited to think about my strengths.

I didn’t know. I had become so accustomed to being hard on myself, cracking the whip to always be better, which was never good enough,
that what I was good at escaped me. I had to (awkwardly) ask other people.

“Tenacious”, a friend told me. It was true, a blessing, a curse. Since then, I realize I have chosen new strengths to develop that are
all states of being – joyful, loving, accepting, grateful, and kind.

My point is – you get to choose...Read More

Are You Working Too Hard?

I meet so many people who are working really hard to reach their goals.

They feel proud of themselves for their strong work ethic, and they feel rewarded for it - by their results and the reinforcement they get from others.

I get it. That's the way I used to be too. I wore "getting things done" like a badge of honour.

When this is the way you have always been, it can be hard to believe that there is an easier way. But, I promise you there is.

Making "Being Well" your priority will speed up your results, while you get to slow down.

There is so much I want to say about this topic, that I will share with you the podcast I was recently on with Hutch at Farm Owners Academy instead.

Enjoy!

Love

Tracy x

P.S. If you need more help with making "Being Well" your priority, you may be interested in learning more about the Soul Pleaser program here.

How We Fall Out of Love

We can fall out of love with anything .... our job, the town we love, our partner ...

But the phrase "fall out of" makes it sound like an accident, like something we have no control over.

I think we have far more power over our lives than we may think.

What I continue to experience more and more in my own life and with the people I work with is that we get what we focus on.

After my third child was born, for the first time in my relationship I started to become irritated by my husband's behaviour.

It wasn't new behaviour. He hadn't changed. What had changed was my thoughts about his behaviour.

So the big question is "why did my thoughts change"?

Before I answer that question, let me tell you how convinced I was that the problem was his behaviour. I shared it with a very good and long-time friend - someone who had known me since I was 15 and my husband for as long as I have known him.

She could see what was going on from a completely different point of view.

What had changed?

Me.

My mood had declined following giving birth in the second half of my thirties. I didn't FEEL as good as usual which changed my perception!

This is so important to recognize. I am incredibly grateful to this dear friend of mine who steered me to the help I needed so that I could think the way I used to - by focusing on how wonderful my husband is!

Your feelings attract your thoughts. If you are feeling down for any reason, you can't necessarily trust the thoughts you are thinking while you are in that state. And it will be difficult for you to think better thoughts while you feel the way you do.

The most important thing for you to do is find a way to feel better consistently which will allow you to see clearly.

Now I know that there are many other reasons that a relationship...Read More

Overwhelmed? What to do first.

"Barely managing hour by hour."

This was a woman's answer when I asked her how she was feeling.

She continually apologized for crying on and off throughout our conversation.

To me, it was perfectly normal, understandable, and exactly what she needed. I encouraged her to let the tears flow.

Her story reflected the experiences that many of us have faced or are living with currently. At some point in the past, too many balls were thrown in the air and it was impossible to keep them all up there.

We start out with enthusiasm about the projects we have chosen in life whether it be a job, business, relationship, or having children. But then we keep adding new demands to our list without removing any. Couple that with the inevitable unexpected challenges that come our way, and suddenly we feel like there is no way out.

There is.

Always.

But you often can't see through the clouds,

the clutter,

the overthinking,

the feelings and opinions of others ....

You can't solve the problem all at once.

You can't go from 100 to zero or zero to 100.

There is always a first step. And only when you take the first step is it possible to take the next one.

When you are feeling overwhelmed, the first step is CLARITY.

For this woman, she needed to create space and we identified three steps she could take to do that.

She felt relief just by deciding to commit to these steps.

1. Short meetings every morning with her team to get clear on the plan for the day. (these will decrease in frequency once the skill level of the team increases)

2. Teach once. To decrease all the questions coming in throughout the day, she would ask the team member to video her while she taught her a new task which would be shared with the group.

3. Outsource one time-consuming task that didn't need to be done by her and wasn't enjoyable -...Read More

If You Can Feel It, You Can Have It

I went to Sydney on the weekend to spend some time with a dear friend of mine and to attend the Abraham Hicks workshop.

This is me chilling with my friend at her house.

I booked this trip because my new intention for doing anything is JOY 🙌🏼.

This is soooo different from how I used to be. Everything I did was working towards an outcome of success in some area of my life. I really had it all backward.

I was living life the hard way, pushing to make things happen. Striving to prove I was good enough.

Now that I know that I am (good enough), no matter what I do ........ I am free to do what I want.

It sounds so simple, but so many people don't live this way. They are so busy doing what they think they should, or what they think other people want them to do, or will approve of.

Abraham didn't say anything I don't already know. But I loved being in the presence of the energy in the room. I was so high, I felt like I might explode.

Especially when Esther repeated several times .....

"If you can feel it, you can have it! If you can feel it, you can have it."

I have experienced this on so many occasions over the past few years that I absolutely love teaching people how to apply this to their lives.

It sounds so simple. But feeling how you would feel if you already had what you wanted can seem out of reach when you haven't had what you want before and don't know how it feels.

What you do know though is that it would feel better than how it feels when you notice you don't have it.

That's all you have to aim for - to feel better.

If you already feel fantastic in this moment - great!
Milk it! 🐄

Wallow in it! 🛀🏼

Be grateful for the feeling and all the thoughts that have caused the feeling, and you will attract more of those...Read More

On Sunday I had the pleasure of hosting a Self Care Sunday in Port Lincoln, South Australia - the town I grew up in.

I shared my own personal story of lack of self-care, modeling my dear mother, and interviewed Paula Symonds about her experience of self-care transforming her life following her husband's decision to take his own life.

There are tears and laughter and lots of vulnerability in this important conversation.

It was a blessing to be a part of and I am pleased to be able to share it with you.

Love

Tracy x

I've just got home from a wonderful weekend with my daughter who is living in the Gold Coast for 3 months.

She has been reading my book 😍and applying what she is learning and loving it.

I told her how happy I am for her and love seeing her allow everything she wants to come into her life.

She said, "I know, but it's not like I don't do anything."

And she's right, manifesting your dream life is not about sitting in a corner and meditating it into being. Inspired action is the fun part of creation.

Her words got me thinking about the common blocks I see people experiencing to living the life they want.

So I thought I would share them with you ...

People can be too focused on what they don't want. When we are continually thinking about and talking about the problems we want to solve - in the past or in our current reality - we are on the same vibration as those problems and so we continue to attract more of the same.

They don't believe it's possible to get what they want. Your life is a reflection of what you believe. And what you believe is what you constantly think or have been thinking for a long time.
